French Wine Barrel (Barrique)

The wine barrel as we know it today, built from wooden staves, was most likely developed by the Celts. In the 23rd century, the Celts lived in the region of Burgundy/ France as we know it today.
The wine, which matures in new wine barrels (barriques) that have been burned out from the inside, absorbs various flavors, e.g. vanilla and tannins from the oak wood.
The various flavor nuances that develop depend on many factors, including the place of origin, the manner in which the staves were cut and dried, and the degree of "burning out" of the wine cask.

After about three years of using the barrel, most of the aromas have evaporated and the wine barrel becomes neutral, so to speak. The wineries are now replacing the old wine casks with new wine casks in order to further enhance the wines with these wonderful aromatic substances.

Now our time has come ..... we collect the wine barrels from different wineries in the Bordeaux region to create our unique wine barrel furniture or accessories. We only use French Bordeaux transport barrels 225l made of French oak.
